Born in 1960, Sergio Arno is the youngest of a traditional family from São Paulo, famous for working in the manufacture of home appliances. His interest in cooking arose at the age of 7, and at 12, he was already producing his first dishes.

At the age of 25, Sergio moved to Milan, where he began his professional career as a cook in Florence. Two years later, in 1987, he returned to Brazil, with all the luggage acquired in Italy, and opened, with much effort and dedication, his own restaurant.

At its inauguration, La Vecchia Cucina conquered the palate of today's greatest gastronomic critic, who dedicated an entire page, with praise and indications, entitled “Young romantic opens Tuscan restaurant”.

Since then, a path of success and external recognition has been traced to one of the biggest names in Brazilian gastronomy: Chef Sergio Arno.
