Taste and Tradition since 1953!

This sentence may seem more like a slogan, but it isn't. It reflects the story of one of the most respected houses in Rio de Janeiro.

It can be said that Vista Alegre Restaurant is an important heritage of the wonderful city.

Founded in November 1953 by the newly arrived Portuguese immigrant couple Mr. Manoel Marques and Mrs. Luntina Cossa, who have always had a true passion for Lusitanian cuisine.

Located since its inauguration to the Três Rios Road, in the Jacarepaguá neighborhood, a place at the time bucolic and overgrown with beautiful views of the Pretos-Forros Hills (where today crosses the Grajaú-Jacarepaguá Hills), which gives rise to the name "Vista Alegre".

Frequented since its inauguration by great businessmen, politicians, communicators, actors and celebrities in general, to this day preserves a conservative tone, where respect for the customer is its biggest brand!

Those who have visited Portugal can put an end to the feeling of the lack of Portuguese cuisine.

Variety is the big difference, because it can mix the most renowned traditional recipes with new contemporary dishes. Everything in Vista Alegre is very tasty and worthy of praise, though it would still be an unforgivable sin not to mention a few highlights, which are:

Portuguese Stew (Thursdays and Sundays);

Chef Style Codfish (every day)

Feijoada Vista Alegre (Fridays and Saturdays)

Roasted Piglet (Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays)

Rabada (Wednesdays)

Porto style double (Tuesdays)

We also have to talk about meats and seafood with an outstanding mention for our Picanha and the Seafood Stew. Thinking of always pleasing our customers, we offer the buffet service option from Monday to Saturday (lunch).

The wait staff gives a show apart, where those who demand quality service can enjoy this rare talent which is to serve well today. All this improved over the decades.

Visit us and be part of this story, we will be happy to welcome you and your family!
